South America
There are so many countries to visit in South America, the most notable being Chile, Argentina and Brazil. The Chileans are known for their wines, which arequite delicious. A short trip outside of Santiago takes you to the old seaside town of Valparaiso, full of history; a walking tour is a must, along with a ride on the Venicular railway, not for the faint of heart.
Argentina is also known for its history and architecture, amazing steaks, along with the most stunning polo ponies on earth. And who can forget the Tango, this riveting dance first came from Argentina, along with die-hard football (soccer) fans!
Brazil, well who hasn’t heard of the song, Girl from Ipanema. Staying in the Copacabana Hotel overlooking the soft white beach, definitely evokes a time in a gentler era. Discover colonial towns stuck in time, be adventurous and go horseback riding or kayak through the forests in the Amazon, there is so much to see and do.
Not to mention the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016!
Peru is another country often heard of, with its Inca history, along with the Inca ruins, go surfing or wander through a part of the Amazon, where it is still possible to visit an indigenous area and participate in a shaman ceremony.
The Galapagos Islands are definitely on the bucket list, bird-watching, scuba diving is a common activity with fine white sand and amazingly clear water, allowing for incredible photographs of sea lions, manta-rays, turtles and much, much more.
