| DAY 1 ARRIVE HYDERABAD Arrive Hyderbad and on arrival transfer to the Taj Falaknuma Palace Hotel. Rest of day at leisure to experience hotel’s signature Jiva Spa. DAY 2 HYDERABAD Pass through Charminar, the rectangular four-arched monumental gate that is 53 metres tall and often described as The Arch of Triumph of the East. It forms the centrepiece of the old city surrounded by crowded bazaars. Visit Mecca Masjid, the largest mosque in south India, with lofty colonnades and entrance arches made of single slabs of granite. Next stop is Chowmohalla Palace, one of the partially restored Nizam’s ceremonial palaces. Visit one of the largest one-man collection of objects d’art in the Sarlarjung Museum. Its 36 halls display a large array of objects collected by Salarjung III, the Prime Minister of the Nizam. Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure. |
DAY 3 HYDERABAD Morning visit Golconda Fort once famed for its diamond mines (from which the famous Kohinoor diamond of the British Crown was mined). It is the site of a strategic fort standing atop an isolated hill, which dates back to the 13th century. This invincible fort has an extraordinary acoustic system built in the architectural design. The extensive ruins of Golconda Fort bear witness to the engineering genius of the Qutub Shahi builders. Rest of the day at leisure. DAY 4 DEPART HYDERABAD |
