India's vast expanse of land encompasses all manner of landscapes, from the soaring peaks of the Himalayas, to the desert state of Rajasthan and the lush jungle of Madhya Pradesh, there are endless opportunities to explore.

Travel to Shimla, in the Himalayas to discover its rich colonial past. Oberoi's Wildflower Hall is on the site of what was once the home of Lord Kitchener. Stroll amongst the deodar, pine and Himalayan oak trees, which provide a cooling relief from the heat of the lower plains. The hotel is happy to assist with gentle day walks alongside more arduous hill treks.

In rural Rajasthan there are many little hotels and retreats that offer authentic village and countryside walks. This charming hunting lodge is situated at the base of a huge granite rock and offers some lovely surrounding scenery to explore. Nearby is Chhatra Sagar a magical tented camp that is pitched on a dam and hillock, overlooking a lake teeming with wildlife.
